Hockey drafts and illness contributed to 4 players taking byes. Leor Wasserman and Cory Letain joined the tournament with half point byes for the first round. Young Aaron Green's Dragon held up against Sam Lipnowski, while Gary Crawford nicked Jim Green for a few rating points by holding a draw. David Milward played well again, but erred in a drawish rook and pawn ending to allow Boron to join Babb as the only two players with 2 points.
