Sam Lipnowski and Myron Kernetsky agreed to a quick draw giving Sam at least a piece of first. Eric Williams had a chance to tie for first, but Perfecto Joven prevailed in a long game. Perfecto and Myron split second place money. Eric did however join Richard Ott in splitting the U1730 prizes.
FIDE Futurity - Round 4 Jim Lauritson secured his FIDE result by scoring his first point, over Khedkar. Tony Boron beat Alex Nikouline after the latter spurned two draw offers, and he joins Jeff Babb in the lead with 3-1. Babb couldn't hold a draw against the undefeated Waldemar Schulz. Aron Kaptsan tricked Jonathan Zaczek; both are now at 50 %. zaczek - Kaptsan 0-1 Crosstables and game scores updated.
