22 players have started the first round, no doubt others will join round 2 on September 15 to build on their successes from this coming weekend's Yanofsky Memorial.

Lorne must be happy with the first round results (excluding his game);the absence of draws makes it easier to make pairings in future rounds.

Two BIG upsets of note, Saul Magnusson beat Myron Kernetsky who outrated him by 407 points, and Lauritson fell to Richard Ott, a mere 424 point difference.
