Jason Repa's reign as Manitoba's blitz chess champion continues as he had a perfect 4.0 score in winning his second consecutive Chess in the Park blitz tournament last Friday.   Prizes were sponsored by Second Cup.   The previous week's tournament was rained out.  

 

Results of the July 3 tournament were:

 

1st    Jason Repa 4.0

2nd    Jonathon Zaczek 3.0 (in playoff)

3rd    Bella Iomdina 3.0

4th to 6th    Carl Pottinger, Daniel Wiebe, Rolando Bince, Gustavo Melamedoff 2.5

7th to 10th    Tom Manicdao, Arvin Dawa, Manfred Schulz, 2.0

11th    Lorne Gibbions 1.5

12th    Leor Wasserman 1.0

13th & 14th    Justin Villeneuve, Paul Santos 0.0 

 

The next blitz tournament is Friday noon at the Air Canada Park.   Entry is free.  Just show up a few minutes before noon to register.
