On top board Trevor Vincent won a grueling contest to take clear first with a 4/4 score. On second board Tony Boron defeated the only other player with 2.5/3 to take clear second. Finishing with 3/4, Jim Hemphill had a great come-back event after years away from playing in rated tournaments. Is it fair to review the games this round that were "almost upsets"? Probably not, but there were quite a number of rather teetery positions . . . |
