The Manitoba Chess Association will be holding the 2008 Junior Chess Championship on Saturday, November 15

This will be a 4 round chess tournament for young chess players. It will be held at the University of Winnipeg in room 2C14.

The time control is as follows: each player will get a maximum of roughly 30 minutes to play the game in the morning and 60 minutes to play the game in the afternoon.

 The four game times are at the following times:

9:45AM [30 min. per player]

11:00AM [30 min. per player]

LUNCH

1:00PM [60 min. per player]

3:00PM [60 min. per player]

Award Ceremonies - 5:00PM

The Manitoba Junior is the highest-level junior chess tournament in Manitoba. You have to be under 20 years old to play. Apart from that, there are no age or school-grade restrictions. The winner of this tournament gets travel sponsorship to the Canadian Junior Championship to be held somewhere in Canada in early 2008.

Registration time is 9:00AM -9:30AM on Saturday November 15.

The entrance fee is $10.
