The Junior Chess Club is now underway.  The club operates every Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 (except long weekends) at the Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre, 511 Ellice Ave. (across the street from the Duckworth Centre at the U of W).   No charge and all are welcome, including adult beginner players.   Chess sets and some instruction is provided.

 

Also, the Chess 'N Math Association will be holding its first monthly tournament of the season, this Sunday, September 30 in room 2D11 at the Duckworth Centre.  This tournament is open to students from K to 12.   Entry fee of $15 and registration is from 12:15 to 12:45.   For more details, go to:  http://chess-math.org/pdf/win_sept_30.pdf
