Downtown Winnipeg Biz and the Manitoba Chess Association are again pleased to present Chess in the Park blitz tournaments to be held every Friday this summer in Merchant Park. The first tournament starts at noon Friday, June 8 and consists of five rounds, with five minutes per player per game. Registration by 11:45 a.m. Entry is free and prizes, sponsored this week by Second Cup, will be awarded. Merchant Park is located on Portage Avenue, across from Portage Place, between Edmonton St. and Kennedy St. Everyone is welcome to play, whether you are a beginner or a tournament veteran.
Come out and enjoy playing outdoor chess, whether in the blitz tournament or on the giant chess board in the Park.
