This year's Yanofsky Memorial, the fifth annual edition, will be bigger and offer more prizes than last year. Here are the details: Prize Fund: $4,000 2 Sections: Open and Under 1800 Special Novice Section Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and Sept.2 Five Rounds University of Winnipeg: Riddell Hall Time Control: 30/90/All in 1 Round times: Friday 7 pm, Sat and Sun. 10 am and 3:30 pm Top Section Prizes: First - $1,000 Second - $700 Third - $500 Top A - $250 Second A - $125 Under 1800 Section Prizes: First - $500 2nd - $375 Top U1600 - $250 2nd U1600 - $100 Entry fees: $60 ($50 for Juniors and Seniors) Early entry before Aug. 7: $10 off FIDE Masters and Above: Entry refunded after completion of all games Novice Section: One day events, Sat. and Sunday Begins at 10 a.m. each day Game/30 $10 entry fee Open to players who have never played in CFC events and are unrated.
