The Edmonton Summer Sectional pairings were made tonight by random draw. The tournament starts this Friday at 7:00 PM. Please arrive a bit early for opening announcements.

At the recently completed CFC AGM, the bid presented for the 2009 Canadian Open by our organizers in Edmonton was accepted unanimously. The organizing committee will be headed by Micah Hughey. We will give you more details as they become available.

I would like to invite everyone, to come and play in the simul which will be given by the Edmonton Champion Blagoj Gicev at the ECC, Saturday May 24th.
The doors will open at 12:30 and the simul starts at 1:00 pm.
Entry fee is $10 for adults and $5 for juniors with net proceeds going to support the Edmonton International. Some small prizes will be available.
