Good turnout of players today, including several first-time players, at the first Portage Place blitz tournament of the season.  Jordan Kwiatek was the winner of the five-round tournament.   Thanks to H'Attitude for providing the prizes.

The next blitz tournament will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 28, although this time it will be held in Kennedy Court (by the waterfountain) at the west end of Portage Place. 

Portage Place and Downtown Winnipeg Biz are sponsoring blitz tournaments to be held every Thursday at noon for the next nine weeks (except March 20).  The first tournament will be held on Thursday, February 21 in Edmonton Court (in front of the clock tower) at Portage Place.  The tournament will consist of a five round Swiss.  Each player is allowed 5 minutes per game.   There is no entry fee and prizes will be awarded.   Please register at least 5 minutes before noon.  All players, including those who have never played in an organized tournament, are welcome to join us.
