Aron Kaptsan drew with Jay Khedkar to ensure himself a piece of first with 3.5, but allowed Blair Rutter and Aaron Green to catch him. I had Igal Raihman pencilled in for a win, but in a clearly winning position he dropped a heavy piece. Such is chess sometimes. White had a rough time on the top ten boards - scoring only 2 points. Most games have been entered. Thanks to Michael Pang, Ken Einarsson, Blair Rutter, John Klokow, and Jonathon Zaczek for sending in their games. No draws ! No upsets ! Boron disappointed the rest of the pack with 1.5 by failing to stop Kaptsan who now sits alone 3-0. It will likely be Khedkar's task next week to create a tie for first. Round 2 was not as surprising as the first, but only two of the thirty-three players have emerged with perfect scores. Aaron Green bounced Bince to join Kaptsan at 2; Waldemar Schulz's expert status is in danger after falling to Ken Einarsson. Other notable results: Pang drew Boron, Swift was again the beneficiary of an opponent's time trouble when Klokow flagged, Ott upset Goodman, Crawford got the full point over Campbell, and Lorne Gibbons concentrated and drew Letain. Round two games now posted.
