COMMENT: Wow, in a small Swiss event such as this, who would expect a four-way tie for first heading into the final round. Swift, Kernetsky, Oberton and Mundwiler all have 2.5/3. Meanwhile!--Saul Magnusson and Cory Letain continue with the upsets. With Jim Lauritson's time trouble this round, following Brian Evans' rather similar misfortune in round 2, everyone must be reminded that February TNTs (and Sectionals!) often have their shocks: it's that kind of month.

Congratulations to the team from Somerset, MB on winning the Manitoba High School Chess Championship held today at the University of Winnipeg.   The Ecole Somerset team scored a superb 19.0 out of a possible 20.0 points in the five round active tournament.   Thanks to all schools that participated.   Final standings were as follows:
